Key Responsibilities

• Supporting individuals with learning disabilities in their daily routines and activities
• Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Administering medication in accordance with prescribed instructions
• Preparing meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
• Managing behaviour through positive reinforcement and behaviour management techniques
• Providing emotional support and companionship to promote mental wellbeing
• Assisting with mobility and light heavy lifting where necessary
• Driving clients to appointments or activities as required
• Monitoring health conditions and recognising signs that require medical attention
• Maintaining accurate records of care provided and any incidents or concerns
• Ensuring a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols including first aid procedures

Experience

• Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospice care, or home care environments is advantageous
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other neurological conditions is preferred
• Experience in caregiving roles involving patient care or senior care is highly valued
• Familiarity with medication administration and basic first aid skills is desirable
• Childcare experience or working with vulnerable populations can be beneficial
• Ability to handle physical tasks such as heavy lifting safely and effectively
• Valid driving licence for transportation duties is preferred but not essential
