Youth Support Worker

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to support and engage young people within our community. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering positive development, providing mentorship, and creating a safe and inclusive environment for youth. Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities tailored to the interests and needs of young people
  • Provide mentorship and support to promote personal growth, confidence, and resilience
  • Assist in organising group sessions, workshops, and recreational events
  • Foster positive relationships with participants, parents, and community partners
  • Monitor behavioural issues and implement appropriate behaviour management strategies
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and any concerns raised during sessions
  • Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety policies at all times
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop programmes that promote inclusion and diversity
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people in educational or community settings
  • Strong understanding of youth development principles and mentoring techniques
  • Teaching skills or background in special education is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young individuals
  • Compassionate, patient, organised, and able to handle challenging situations effectively
  • Relevant qualifications or training in youth work, mentoring, or related fields are preferred
  • Ability to work flexibly according to programme schedules, including evenings or weekends if required
